Incredible place! We just did the backpacking trail from Kaibab to Bright Angel, sleeping at phantom ranch and Indian garden, and I think it's a MUST in your life... hard! But totally worth it.
Water available. Well maintained. Ranger station in the area.
If you can get a permit... Make the trip for the night... If not just hike down and back up. It's doable if you are in ok shape.
Fantastic campground surrounded by beautiful scenery! A must visit. And as an added bonus very clean and nice bathrooms!
Did the whole backpacking deal to the bottom and all of the stops on the bright angel trail were functioning and had everything working!
