Great steak, ribs, potatoes, but tasteless bread. 1/2 slab of ribs equals a whole at home. Very nice waiter.
Got seated right away. Tim provided great service, needed many water refills! Rolls were warm. Hubby had prime rib medium rare & said it was seasoned very well. I ordered 1/2 chicken Caesar salad, which has a slightly spicy blackened dressing I wasn't to thrilled with, so Tim brought some ranch & blue cheese which made it more palatable. It has black beans & corn in it. Before it got thoroughly dark, we were able to see the canyon from the window. Overall a good experience.
As tourists, my family has enjoyed eating at all the places Grand Canyon Village has to offer. The Arizona Room is something left to be desired. Our server was really great. Prompt on drink refills, and got us what we needed. But it ends there.
I was served raw salmon and I asked them to take it back and recook it, when they brought it back it was still raw. The sides were bland and tasteless. Definitely don't recommend.
I ordered the "special" burger. Guac, bacon, bison meat...sounded pretty good. I watched as the chef squirted quac from a little pouch. Is fresh guacamole REALLY that hard to make? I understand it goes bad fast, but only make as much as you need. And I'm sure it's cheaper. The meat was ok. Definitely previously frozen. The burger was a step up from a fast food burger, BTW.
The bread came from big bags, like it came from the local food service distributor. The warm chips served with the (most likely canned. Really salty!) white bean dip appetizer were microwaved. The chips tasted, and looked like, they came from the same place as the bread.
Horrible!!! The server left us for over 20 minutes and never checked in with us while we sat and waited for our waters to be refilled. She just disappeared. When the food came my $13 burger had a stale bun that I could bang on the table. The burger was definitely a frozen patty and the vegetables were way overcooked pile of carrots. Everyone's meals tasted like senior living food. Horrible service and awful food! I would give 0 stars if I could and I would tell anyone to go eat elsewhere.
Go elsewhere.
Dessert time came. The server was heavy on urging us to get ice cream next door. Server didn't say it directly, but I'm positive the desserts came from the same place as the bread, chips and bean dip.
If you like paying money at a sit-down place for stuff from a can, this is your place. Other wise, go some place else.
I had direct views of the kitchen, and it was grim. I watched as the chef cut tomatoes with the same knife as he did the beef. Granted the beef was cooked, still unsanitary IMHO. I watched one server load the bread basket with his bare hands. Thankfully it wasn't ours!
