Lunch left something to be desired, but it was definitely fulfilling and I enjoyed the meal. Staff was AWESOME. Great option for breakfast or lunch but I recommend the El tovar for dinner if you want better quality.
The room was clean, albeit small. The location was great and a quick walk to the Grand Canyon. There is a small cafeteria with decent prepared food located in the main building of the lodge near the front desk. There is also a nice pizza pub there in addition to a small gift shop. The only downside was the wifi did not work very well, but we were at the Grand Canyon. That just meant that the pictures we took had to be posted after we got back to Williams.
For an older place, it was awesome. We had deer eating grass outside our patio. The room was clean. The air conditioner worked great. We didn't hear our neighbors that had young kids. The staff was so incredibility kind and helpful. The bed was comfortable. Loved the cabin feel with hotel amenities. We loved it!
It's a lodge. We came from the strip and spent one night here and it's obviously a different feeling and vibe. Definitely could use some updating but it's probably what you would expect when visiting the Grand Canyon. The place was clean it was very close to the rim trail and reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and the souvenir store had some cool stuff. It's worth the stay if you don't want to pay the extra price to be right on the rim. The pizza Pub was also pretty good.
Otherwise, beds were fine, bathrooms worked, outlet situation was odd but the lodge was built before today’s modern requirements. The Kcup coffee machine was a nice touch. And of course, the convenience of staying in the park was great.
It was fine. We knew we weren’t staying in a high end place, and understand that this is part of the National Park. We camp, love the outdoors, and can look past a lot. But these rooms need updating. The carpet was disgusting. We had our 11 month old with us and her whole life is spent on the floor. Her socks were soiled just from walking around our room. I realize people come in from hiking with dirty shoes but a good shampoo or carpet replacement was well past due. Any other place than the Grand Canyon and these rooms would go for half the rate.
